Individual Artistic Practice

For years I've been interested in the physicality of relationship, the bodily dimension that frames the conceptual, psychological and emotional as we engage with others.
This body of work explores this dimension.

Materials matter a lot here as hog gut, a bodily matter, is cut, dried and reformed into large sheets. Pieces are cut from patterns and sewn together.

NOTE: this page contains personal art. Social practice is on the home page.

The StarWomb Project
This piece was informed by a collaboration with Astrophysicist, Daniel W. Savin. His research into the chemical reality that formed the first star, inspired the Star Womb Project.

video, performance and sound

Mending Broken Hearts consists of the video documentation and artifact from a performance. After the death of a mutual friend, another artist and I pressed ourselves together after painting ourselves with latex. We grieved our loss, reminisced, and kept our hearts together for 2+ hours as an assistant poured additional latex between our bodies.
The final installation contains two videos of the performance and the latex piece.

Marvin and Me was a performance that was both personal and political.
